How I Can Help
Practical support for life with your dog.
Every dog and household is different. We’ll start with what’s actually happening, figure out what your dog needs, and build a plan that makes sense for both of you.
When dogs feel safe, confident, and understood, they often don't have to work as hard to get their point across. Learning your dog's communication can help you catch problems earlier and respond more effectively in the moments that matter.
What's included
Every package includes:
- Customized session notes and clear next steps
- Between-session support for questions
- Relevant handouts, videos, and training resources

Understand Your Dog
Ever wish your dog came with subtitles?
Turns out they’re talking nonstop. We just miss the quiet stuff.
That subtle head turn when you lean in for a kiss. The sudden stillness when the harness comes out. The gentle lean when you stop petting. These aren’t random quirks—they’re full sentences.
- Notice and understand quieter body-language signals you may be missing.
- Figure out not only what makes your dog uncomfortable, but what makes your dog feel safe, happy, interested, and fulfilled.
- Turn those observations into practical changes you can use in normal daily life.
Session 1 — Watch, notice, understand
We’ll start with the basics of dog body language and look at examples together, so you know what to look for and how different signals can fit together.
Then we’ll go through the videos you sent me. Because you already know your dog and the situations in the videos, we can slow things down, replay moments, and connect what you’re learning to a dog you know really well.
We’ll look at what your dog does when they’re enjoying something, asking for more, feeling unsure, trying to create space, or starting to feel like they need to make themselves clearer.
Then we’ll watch your dog together in real time and start spotting those same patterns as they happen.
The goal isn’t to memorize a bunch of body-language terms. It’s to get better at noticing what your dog is telling you while they’re still saying it quietly.
Session 2 — Have a Better Conversation
This session is more hands-on.
You’ll take the lead in watching your dog and talking through what you notice. We’ll look at how their body language changes from moment to moment, what seems to be working for them, and what they may be asking you to change.
We’ll focus on helping you feel more comfortable reading those signals in everyday life, so you can respond earlier and make choices that work better for both of you.
Afterward, I’ll send you a short Your Dog’s Dictionary with the main signals and patterns we noticed together—something simple you can keep and refer back to later.
You’ll receive: Your Dog’s Dictionary
A written, personalized guide to this dog’s individual signals, preferences, comfort cues, concerns, and communication patterns—something you can keep using after the sessions.

Everyday Behavior Help
For the everyday behaviors you want to handle differently—jumping, recall, waiting at doors, impulse control, and more. This service is intentionally broad and handled case by case rather than forcing every dog into the same program.
- Leash pulling
- Coming when called
- Jumping
- Controlling impulses
- Waiting at doors
- Polite greetings
- Digging
- Destructive behavior
- Pawing for attention
- Foundational skills
- Some forms of reactivity, depending on the case
Session 1 — Understand what’s happening
We’ll start with what is hardest in daily life and what you’d like to see instead. Together, we’ll look at what may be contributing to the behavior, make things easier where we can, and choose a realistic place to start.
Session 2 — Build practical skills
We’ll practice the skills and routines that matter most to your everyday life, see what is working, and adjust anything that isn’t. The goal is progress that fits into your actual life—not a perfect training routine you can’t maintain.
Session 3 — Make it work in real life
We’ll bring those skills into the situations where you really need them, work through the parts that are still difficult, and leave you with a clear, sustainable plan for moving forward.
Between sessions: You can reach out with questions between sessions.

Leash Walking
I think about walks in terms of duration, not distance. If you’re going out for 25 minutes, maybe your dog smells every blade of grass and you only make it three houses down. Maybe they’re in the mood to move and you cover three blocks. Either is completely fine.
- The goal is a loose, relaxed leash—not marching a dog beside you for the entire walk.
- Sniffing, exploring, pausing, and moving at a pace that works for the dog are part of a successful walk.
- Connection matters. A more formal heel can be useful when needed, but it is a tool rather than the whole walk.
- Distance is useful information. Creating space can make the difference between a dog who can think and a dog who cannot.
Session 1 — Build the foundation
We’ll start with the communication and leash skills that help you find a rhythm that works. You’ll learn how to reinforce the moments you want, help your dog stay connected with you, and handle the leash in a way that gives both of you more freedom and clarity.
Session 2 — Make walks feel easier
We’ll begin practicing in low-distraction areas and build from there. You’ll learn simple ways to help your dog move with you, take breaks, turn away from distractions, and settle back into the walk.
Session 3 — Take it into real life
We’ll practice on one of your normal walking routes, work through the situations that tend to make walks harder, and figure out how much distance, movement, sniffing, and support your dog needs.
When a walk gets too hard
Sometimes the best choice is simply to create more space. I’ll show you practical ways to help your dog turn away and move with you without dragging or fighting the leash.

A New Dog in the Family
The first priority is helping your dog feel comfortable while giving you clear guidance about what to do—and what not to do—so the transition keeps moving toward confidence and trust.
Session 1 — Help everyone settle in
We’ll focus on helping your dog feel comfortable in your home while setting up predictable routines and expectations. You’ll learn how to support your dog without asking too much too soon.
Session 2 — Adjust as you learn each other
We’ll check in on how things are actually going, talk through anything that has been difficult, and adjust routines or strategies as needed. As you learn more about your dog, we’ll build the skills that help both of you communicate and settle into a shared rhythm.
Session 3 — Build your next steps
We’ll practice the pieces that matter most, strengthen what is already working, troubleshoot anything that still feels difficult, and leave you with clear next steps for continuing to build trust, comfort, and useful skills.

Help Your Dog Feel Safer
This service is for dogs who are worried, reactive, easily overwhelmed, or simply need more confidence. The focus is not only on getting through hard moments. It is also on helping your dog build a bigger life through activities your dog genuinely enjoys and can succeed at.
- Understand what helps your dog feel safe and what makes situations harder.
- Use practical management and training so you have options in real life.
- Build confidence through enjoyable work such as scent-based activities, problem-solving games, and fun tricks—without turning the service into a gimmicky checklist.
- Keep the framing positive: the goal is more safety, confidence, capability, and fun, not a list of everything the dog cannot handle.
Session 1 Understand what helps your dog feel safe
We’ll look at what your dog notices, what makes situations harder, what helps them recover, and what already helps them feel more comfortable. From there, we’ll make practical changes that reduce pressure and give your dog more opportunities to succeed.
Session 2 — Give your dog more options
We’ll practice ways to help your dog when something feels difficult—creating more space, helping them turn away or move on, and reinforcing choices that make those moments easier to navigate.
Session 3 — Build confidence through things your dog enjoys
We’ll spend time on activities that help your dog feel capable and successful. Depending on the dog, that might include sniffing, exploration, problem-solving, games, or fun training that adds more enjoyment and confidence to everyday life.
Session 4 — Make it work in real life
We’ll look at what’s working, practice anything you want more help with, and make sure the plan feels natural and doable in your everyday life. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of how to keep supporting your dog and building their confidence.
The goal isn’t for your dog to suddenly feel comfortable with everything. It’s for both of you to feel more capable as you move through the world—and to have a whole lot more fun together.
